I'm Avery Olsen.

I have loved movies ever since I was a toddler. While my parents painted the house we moved into when I was little, they'd keep me occupied and out of the way by sitting me in my high chair and playing a VCR of Toy Story on repeat. Toy Story was the first movie I ever loved, and that early fondness of movies and stories has grown into the desire to participate in their creation.

I am a graduate of the Brigham Young University film program with a minor in business and a Spanish Language Certificate. My work as the Director of Photography on the student film En Tierra Ajena y Desconocida during my last semester earned me the award of Best Student Cinematographer at the June 2023 New York Cinematography Awards. I currently freelance on camera, G&E, and production teams in commercial and narrative work in the Salt Lake City Metropolitan Area. My goal is to be a screenwriter and director of feature films.

I love to watch movies, write, and read. I love nature and have a couple of fish tanks and would travel to every country of the world in search of stories if I could. But above all, I'd love to collaborate with you to create something beautiful.
